About Dr. Ma

Dr. Ma has been studying Chinese medicine since 1985. He has been passionate in regards to the study and research of Chinese medicine for 30 years. He received his bachelor of science in 1990, and later his Master’s degree in medicine from Heilongjiang University of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) in 1993. This degree licensed him as a doctor both of Western medicine (in China) and TCM.
In 1997 he earned his Ph.D. in herbal formulations at the best TCM school in China—Beijing University of TCM, studying under the great Chinese medicine master Mianzhi Wang , who continues a has published numerous research papers and books, and has participated as a presenter in several international conferences in the field.

Dr.Ma practiced Chinese medicine and taught foreign students in China and Sweden for several years. He moved to the United States in 1999 to take the role of Director of the Herbal Studies Department at the Academy of Oriental Medicine in Austin (AOMA). As an educator and clinical expert in both acupuncture and Chinese herbology, Dr. Ma has published numerous research papers and books, and has been a presenter at many prestigious international conferences in the field. Dr. Ma has been to many countries—China, Sweden, Finland, South Korea, Canada, Mexico, and New Zealand. Dr. Ma’s accomplishments have been recognized in many international media including TV, radio, magazine and newspapers in China, US, and Europe.
